Similar to the AM-8, the AS-9 is an aluminum oxide finishing stone engineered for hand stoning EDM (electrical discharge machining) scale surfaces as well as cutting marks and machining marks on all types of mold and die steels. It’s a bit softer than the AM-8 offering faster breakdown and the ability to conform to the shape of the tool being polished. The special formulation of the AS-9 provides a fast, smooth cutting action during hand stoning and flat lapping. Available in 100-1200 grit and a wide variety of sizes including round and triangle shapes.
